2018 has been a very busy year for the Police Treatment Centres once again. We have treated over 3500 officers and retired officers across our two centres in the last 12 months and have also attended 31 external wellbeing events and conferences.
Our supporters have been busy too this year. We have had just over 40 Fundraising Heroes taking on various events and challenges and raising funds for the PTC as they go. A fantastic total of £16,558.90 has been raised by our Heroes in 2018 and we hope this is an area of support that continues to grow in 2019. So, if you are thinking of running a fundraising event or taking part in an organised event, then please remember your very own Police Charity and raise funds for the PTC. The majority of our income comes from the donations received from serving and retired officers, and that’s why our Donor Recruitment & Charity Engagement team have been out and about on the road. Our small team attended 176 recruitment events over the course of the year as well as 87 pre-retirement seminars, in order to encourage the probationers to donate to the charity and to remind the retiring officers of the benefits of continuing to donate in their retirement.
Many of these events were also attended by one or more of our Ambassadors in order to provide support to the charity’s input, and we are very grateful for the help we receive from our Ambassadors. Our PTC monthly lottery has continued to grow throughout 2018 and once again we held two Superdraws during the course of the year with all cash prizes doubled and additional prizes added. We are just about to celebrate our 500th prize winner at the end of December. Sign up here: http://www.thepolicetreatmentcentres.org/fundraising/lottery
Our weekend Bed & Breakfast was very popular indeed this year, perhaps due to the wonderful summer we had. We welcomed a total of 1573 guests to our two centres, many of them returning for a second or third time. So whether you supported us during 2018 by raising funds or by helping out at an event on our behalf, or if you played our lottery or even enjoyed a relaxing visit to one of our centres, may we offer all our supporters a very big heartfelt thank you and wish you all the very best happiness and health for 2019.
