The PTC and TPCC recently held their quarterly Board Meeting in Auchterarder on Friday 4 August. This was a key meeting where the PTC reviewed a number of proposals about eligibility, the donation rate and our core treatment programmes. Information on these and several other strategic decisions will be promulgated in the coming weeks, but one piece of good news that we do want to confirm, is that the PTC will be holding its donation rate for serving officers at its current level throughout the whole of 2024.
We are very much aware that this is a challenging time economically for all of our police donors and supporters, and the price of virtually everything has gone up in recent years, but the PTC always takes pride in delivering the very best treatment in the most cost-effective way and intends to continue to support all our serving and retired colleagues to the best of our ability whilst maintaining the donation rate for serving officers at its current rate. We have now held the donation rate at this level since 2016 which is testament to our strict financial planning, our income generation models and with the support of all our fantastic donors and supporters. This is of course very good news, although the donation rate will be reviewed again in 2024 to assess whether it should be increased in 2025.
The PTC would also like to take this opportunity to thank all of our Trustees for their dedication, knowledge and commitment to the PTC and TPCC. They carry out the work of Trustees without any reward or recognition, often on top of very busy work portfolios, and play a pivotal role in shaping and guiding the direction of both charities, and really make a difference to the work of both charities and all of our beneficiaries.
